Polaris and Simon Fraser Lodge Legacy Tea
Tea, conversation and a whole lot of heart.
That’s what happens when Polaris Montessori Elementary students sit down with their senior friends from Simon Fraser Lodge.
The recent Legacy Tea, hosted in May, was the perfect celebration of a year-long partnership. Over the last school year, students visited the Lodge every week, swapping stories, sharing laughs and building connections over shared interests.
“The students, when they get to interact with the seniors, I see the joy on their faces—it really brings out compassion and empathy,” Andrea Jex, teacher at Polaris Montessori, told CKPG News in an interview.
Some of the best learning doesn’t happen in a classroom.
